Do you need to apostille a background check issued by the Federal Government (FBI)?
The FBI background check is issued by the U.S. Department of Justice – Federal Bureau of Investigations. In order to obtain your FBI background check, you will need to submit your fingerprints to the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) division of the FBI. Once you receive your results, you can then send it to our office for processing. We recommend that you contact an FBI channeler to assist you in obtaining your background check.
Note: FBI background check are not notarized nor are they processed through the Secretary of State’s office. The only department that can apostille this document is the US Department of State in Washington, D.C. Our office is conveniently located in Washington, D.C. and steps away from the U.S. Department of State – Office of Authentications.
If you receive your FBI background check in a digital format (PDF copy), go ahead and e-mail it to us with the completed order form and payment (see below). If you receive your FBI background by regular mail (Hard copy), go ahead and mail it to our Washington DC apostille office with our order forms (see below). We can process a digital PDF copy or a hard copy. It’s your choice.
