Are you planning to obtaining a Visa for Costa Rica? Have you been asked to apostille your documents for Costa Rica?
As a US citizen, you can obtain a permanent residency visa in Costa Rica through several options, including:
Pensioner or Rentista Visa: If you have a monthly pension income or can demonstrate that you have a steady stream of income from investments or rental property, you may be eligible for a pensioner or rentista visa. The minimum monthly income requirement for the pensioner visa is currently $1,000, while the rentista visa requires a minimum investment of $60,000.
Investment Visa: If you plan to invest in a Costa Rican business or property, you may be eligible for an investment visa. The minimum investment requirement is currently $200,000.
Work Visa: If you have a job offer from a Costa Rican employer, you may be eligible for a work visa.
Marriage to a Costa Rican: If you are married to a Costa Rican citizen, you may be eligible for a spousal visa.
Once you have determined which visa category is most appropriate for you, you will need to submit an application to the Costa Rican embassy or consulate in the US. You will need to provide documentation such as a criminal background check (FBI Background Check Apostille), proof of income or investment, and other supporting documents depending on the specific visa category.
After submitting your application, you will need to attend an interview at the Costa Rican embassy or consulate, where you will be asked questions about your reasons for seeking residency in Costa Rica and your ability to support yourself financially. If your application is approved, you will be issued a residency card, which is valid for two years. After two years, you can apply for permanent residency.
